Monkey see; Monkey do

Amelia likes to hang out with me while I feed (breastfeed) Audrey. After finishing a feed and while changing Audrey's diaper, I suggested to Amelia that she feed her own baby. She took me up on my suggestion and instead of grabbing her toy bottle she decided to "breastfeed" baby.

My girls!

My future cheerleader decided this was a "cool" cheer outfit.

By myself

All of a sudden Avery doesn't want any help on puzzles, activities, and making sandwiches. I blame this partially on his Montessori schooling and partially on his age. This past week Avery completed his 100 piece puzzle in record time. Also his teacher, Ms. Cheri, has been letting him help prepare their school snack, which involves new skills and responsibilities. These new skills include using a knife to cut snack items and using a butter knife to place spread on their crackers and bread. Avery has been enjoying these new skills so much he insists on making his own sandwiches...I'm not complaining:)

Step one: get bread Step two: butter bread
Step 3: Get meat
Step four: use American cheese Step five: use Swiss cheese

Step Six: butter last slice of bread Step Seven: sandwich complete.

Amelia's Trip to the Dentist

This past week Amelia made a trip to the dentist. Initially she was a little timid, but after a few stickers, the chance to wear cool glasses, the ability to pick out a movie she relaxed and let the ladies clean her teeth.

Here are a few extra "fun" pics from this week.

Nothing beats a sundae from McDonald's
Sisterly love, spit-up and all:)

Family Adventures with Mimi

This past Tuesday while picking up Avery from school Mimi took a spill and broke her 5th metatarsal of her right foot. She has been using crutches and an orthopedic boot to get around. Shane and I feel terrible and even though the odds are stacked against her, Mimi still manages to be a big help.

Mimi took Avery to the Children's Museum for a fun New Year's Party.

The entire family visited the Botanical Gardens.

Avery received a wheelbarrow and gardening tools from Santa. Avery put several miles on the wheelbarrow within several days of receiving his gift.

Amelia loved her new underwear sooo much she decided to try them on immediately after opening.

Shane worked the night shift the entire week before Christmas and Christmas day. Consequently, planning Santa's arrival and making sure Shane was home to witness the event was a challenge. Our story; Santa dropped off the Christmas gifts at Shane's work by accident. Therefore, when Shane came home from work at 8:30 he brought the kids their gifts and they were none the wiser.
