Valentine's Day 2015

The kids were very excited for the "secret valentine" event at their enrichment program.  They each received a secret valentine name and were tasked with providing their valentine a surprise gift, each week over a 4-week period.  The most challenging part for both was keeping the secret for almost a month.  They loved every moment of giving and receiving!

Audrey also had a simple valentine exchange at her school.  She worked super hard to construct each valentine and sign her name.

Over valentine weekend we took the kids to dinner, a show at the Magik Theater, and skating for the first time.  Skating was a hoot!  I forgot how much fun skating could be and felt some serious nostalgia as I watched my kids wipe out on the rink floor.  Thank goodness for walkers, something totally new for this 30 something gal, otherwise Audrey's bum would have been a permanent fixture on the floor!

Legos Galore

With the prospect of moving on the horizon my thoughts have drifted towards room organization.  Living in a 3 bedroom house has left the kid's rooms slightly cluttered, each with its own sore spot.  Avery's mess happens to be the growing Lego collection on his shelving units.  In his spare time and with spare parts he builds and builds and builds some more.  A lot of his designs are eventually redesigned and nothing ever seems to be final.  The only sure thing is another new creation and less shelving space.  Moving means Avery will be forced to decompose the majority of his collection.  I love uncluttered surfaces.  Then again, I also love his designs.
