Well, last night was a big night for Nebraskans everywhere. Despite a disappointing end to the football and volleyball seasons, and a disappointing loss to Kansas at Allen Field House (basketball), we came home with the mother of all wins. For the first time in history, Nebraska won the Miss America Scholarship (beauty) Pageant, and what a big win it was. TOTAL REDEMPTION!! I have to be honest, when Diane started making me watch the program on ABC last I was not excited. For heaven sakes we could have been watching 'Dirtiest Jobs' or 'House Hunters International'. But after making the first cut, it continued to get more and more interesting. And as you can see from the pictures, by the end it was almost as good as watching Nebraska win the BCS championship. Who needs the Big 12 conference anyway? Obviously, there were no Big 12 football referees judging this one! You go Teresa!!! Gooooo Biiiiiiig Reeeeeeeeed, GO BIG RED!

I Dream in White
Last night after reading Amelia "Pinkalicious" and before tucking her in bed she asked me, "momma what is your favorite color?", and I said white. I love white, especially when used in decorating! I love white kitchens, white cabinets, white wainscoting, white paint, white slip covers, and white fireplaces. I know what you are thinking...soooo much to clean, it doesn't matter I LOVE WHITE. This short conversation with Amelia made me think of Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson. So, it was my luck that in 2008 a movie named "Somethings Gotta Give" featured the house of my dreams, a new England type beach house with white everything! I'm in love!
Look, white pillars and white trim...I'm giddy.
Sooo much white and transom windows to die for!!!!
Slipcovers with ties...divine!
White subway tiles as a backsplash...delicious!
A white paradise with white built in bookshelves on either side of Erica!
What a view and the crown molding is white!
Maybe white isn't your thing, but I bet getting a house fix is: click here to dream!

Keep'n It Real
Ok so a friend e-mailed me with this post of keepin' it real.
I've received similar e-mails but haven't been brave enough to try.
Since I'm feeling brave today. I did it.
Here are the rules:
Take a picture of yourself right now.
No primping or preparing.
Just snap one picture.
Load the picture onto your blog.

Oh wait, I forgot, I'm a stay at home mom and look like this everyday.

A New Chapter
Bye, Bye Volvo
You will be missed.
Hello minivan
You still look like a minivan. This past Wednesday we purchased a brand new Honda Odyssey. For most people this might bring a feeling of excitement, but for Shane this meant closing another chapter and opening a new chapter; growing older. For me I felt a sigh of relief and had visions of the wonderful conveniences a minivan would bring to our lives with the addition of #3. Regardless of how both of us felt about our new purchase it was hard to say goodbye to the Volvo. The Volvo entered our lives about the same time Avery made his debut. We had lots of good memories with our kids and travels in Germany, as well as some hardships. We both know the minivan, with a little time, will make it's way to becoming an important part of the family. However, for now it is what it is....a minivan. Like Shane said, "The inside kind-of feels like the Volvo, but when you get out there isn't one angle that doesn't make the vehicle look like a mini-van." Due to Shane's "transition difficulties" the minivan has been totally signed in my name. Shane's name does not appear on the title. He is thus washing his hands of this vehicle and placing very little claim on the newest member of our auto family.
I know after our first long trip he is going to love this vehicle.

27 weeks
This week I am 27 weeks along. It's hard to believe we will have a new addition to our family in about 3 months. For the most part I feel good, however unlike my first two pregnancy's this pregnancy has brought some "new" unwelcome experiences/ailments. My least favorite being the spider veins that have developed in my right leg. Shane keeps telling me they should go away after pregnancy. I hope he is correct, otherwise I'll be knocking at his door for some schlerotherapy...HA!
