Catching up!

For those of you that don't know, Shane is currently doing a four week rotation in Houston and is, therefore, not in San Antonio during the week, but is able to make it back home on the weekends…thank goodness. Not having help at some point during the weekday has left me feeling extra tired in the evenings. As a result, I haven't posted in a while, but am trying to catch up!

Amelia's 1st professional haircut!

Feeling beautiful!

Hitting the birthday circuit...princess style!
The invited guests were able to choose a costume from a very long rack of princess dresses and knight uniforms. After Cinderella's grand entrance to the party, Amelia quickly grabbed the mini-me version of the same dress and became Cinderella's shadow for the remainder of the party.

Can you spy Amelia glued to Cinderella's side?

Dining out at the "Magic Time Machine."

The "Magic Time Machine" is a restaurant I remember visiting while vacationing with my family in high school.  When Shane and I moved to San Antonio I quickly spied this restaurant while running errands, and knew someday we would make a visit to this memorable place.  That "someday" presented itself last weekend when a change of scenery was definitely needed....and a change of scenery is just what the kids got.  In fact, Audrey wasn't sure what to think of the "Joker" and "Marilyn Monroe".....check out the picture below.

You can't tell by the picture, but Avery and Ameilia's drinks were both smoking with dry ice...very cool for a 3 and 5 year old.

Popcorn!

Popcorn stuck to Audrey's face after suffering from a runny nose.

Flag Football!

Avery spent most of his time chasing anybody with a flag rather than the person carrying the football, whether Avery was on defense or offense...we have a long way to go...HA!

The Trophy

Saturday marked the last game of Avery's first soccer season.  When asked if he enjoyed soccer his reply was always, "I don't like wearing shin guards and tall socks, but it's OK."  However, something special happened at the last game that changed his usual reply to, "I REALLY like soccer!", and that "something special" was receiving a trophy.  I will never forget the look on Avery's face when the coach gathered the Jaguar soccer team together, calling each child's name one by one, and then handing them their very own trophy.  The look on his face was sheer bliss, excitement, and awe all wrapped up into one giant smile.  Avery and his trophy were inseparable for the next couple of days, until he selected a special spot in his bedroom to better admire his prize.
