Audrey's 1st Birthday Party...."Breakfast with Santa"....The Party

We had a special guest at our party, SANTA!  He was GREAT!  Santa's beard and belly were the real thing.  He had the perfect answer for all questions and made ever child feel special.  I hope we see him again next year.

Amelia loved Santa!  She held his hand and kept close proximity to him at all times.  At one point during the breakfast Amelia asked Santa if he likes beer, and Santa replied with a side stepping answer, to which Amelia responded..."My daddy drinks a lot of beer."

Audrey wasn't so sure about Santa, but squeaked out a smile if held by mom or dad.

Our little guests were a well mannered bunch!

Thank you Megan for picking up the camera and taking so many special pictures!

Audrey's 1st Birthday...."Breakfast With Santa"....The Cake

My absolute favorite vision at a child's first birthday party, is the presentation of the "smash cake" and how they decide to proceed.

I include this picture because Avery so wanted to help blow out the candle, and that's what he did, at just the right moment.

Audrey's 1st Birthday ....."Breakfast With Santa"......PreParty

I have sooo many good pictures from this party that breaking it down into several different posts, I feel, is the best way to share Audrey's 1st birthday....Enjoy!

This was the beginning...Our "Breakfast With Santa" invitations.

Included with the invitation was a "Dear Santa" letter.  Both Avery and Amelia worked hard to let Santa know what they wanted in their own special way.

Amelia wants a snowman.

Avery wants a....."I want a tresurer box for Christmas."  He sounded out "treasure box" several times before settling on "tresurer box."

On the eve of the party Amelia was soooo excited to find out she was sitting right next to Santa.  Avery was excited that he was sitting next to his buddy "Henry."

The "smash cake"

Each party has a detail that takes longer than one might expect, and these little numbers were my time consuming detail.  I made 12 simple crayon aprons.  My problem was deciding to make 12.

Mimi made a special, "surprise" visit to be with us on Audrey's 1st birthday.  It was a wonderful surprise that made the day extra special.

Luau Birthday Party

Happy 5th Birthday Avery and Happy 36th Birthday Shane!!!

You can't tell by the picture, but Avery is very excited to greet his guests with a candy lei and a hula skirt!

Avery wanted both a cupcake and a piece of cake.  The chocolate cake ended up all over his face, as is evident by the picture, and he is enjoying the last piece of his cupcake...a hibiscus leaf.   I guess on your 5th birthday, you can have your cake and eat it too.

Cake time.

When you live in San Antonio, Texas and order a medium pinata, an extra large pinata is what you are going to get!  Now that's bang for your buck.

Both birthday boys took their turns at the pinata.
The best part of a pinata is what lies inside!
