Amelia's 10th Birthday at the Raceway!

We decided to hit the raceway for Amelia's 10th birthday and boy did the kids have a good time! Because we booked a private party we were able to be on the track without the general public, which was imperative, as all party goers were first time drivers.  With the track to themselves and the ability to race freely, we parents all got a future glimpse of driving in the teen years.  Luck for us Amelia was a timid and cautions driver, while Audrey was a focused and methodical driver.  Unlucky for us Avery was CRAZY driver...yikes we are in trouble!  

Amelia turning 10 - My Favorite Things

My sweet Amelia, today you are 10...sigh.  I love watching you grow and develop into the lovely young girl you are becoming, but at the same time I mourn the little girl that is gone.  Today you enter the realm of double digits, and while you find this exciting, you also express a desire to remain mom and dad's "little girl".  Does this mean we have entered the "tween" years?  There are so many things about you that I find special, but at this moment in time what stands out the most is your nurturing nature towards Agatha.  Amelia, someday you are going to make the best mom ever, and honestly there is no higher calling.  Here are the things I want to remember as you leave #9 and enter #10.

1.  You are an AMAZING big sister!  

2.  You are a natural with Agatha.  

I'm pretty sure after smiling at mom, Agatha smiled at you!

3.  You are a super helper in the kitchen, around the house, and with Aggie...you even change diapers.

4.  You like going to school, but also like your days at home.

5.  Your piano skills continue to improve and "dreamy" pieces are your thing.

6.  Your favorite book to date...The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

7.  You do not have a natural inclination towards sports, but with some pushing from your dad, willingly play basketball & volleyball. With that being said, you can now dribble between your legs..consecutively!  Way to go!!!

8.  At the moment, you are into playing BattleShip and a home version of the TV shop "Chopped".  

9.  You continue to grow like a weed and remain in the 99 percentile  for height.  Your dad and I keep wondering...will this continue or will puberty strike?

10.  You have the best smile ever...

a magnificent grin from ear to ear...

 that can be pure sunshine even on the dreariest of days.
