Sometimes it saddens me that I didn't start blogging after Avery was born. For me, blogging is a way of documenting my children's lives; a proof of life, an electronic journal of their daily happenings. I believe recording “the story of me” for each of my children, is one of the greatest gifts, as a mother, I can give my family. Most importantly I want to show Avery, Amelia, and Audrey that they were loved.
After Audrey’s one year photo shoot, I pulled out all the professional pictures taken of my three babes. It was surreal looking at the growth and changes in each of my children over a one year time span. Sometimes when I look at these photos I long to hold the babies that my children once were, but know I should enjoy the “now” before the present passes. Avery is only 5, Amelia is almost 4, and Audrey is 13 months. I know they are still young, but gosh time seems to fly by.

9 Months
Unfortunately, I do not have stats on my kiddos at 9 months, as this is typical standard of care in the military health care system (no 8-9 month well baby checks unless needed). However, I will comment on each of their growth from a non-medical perspective, mine. Avery's growth has always surprised me. At times he seems like other boys his age in terms of growth, and there are times he seems much bigger. For example, at 18 months of age not only was he tall but he was a chunk. Additionally, at four years of age Avery was taller than most boys his age. However, at age 5 he seems to be the same height as his peers. This is also evident on this growth chart posted in his room. He goes through growth spurts and just stops for long periods of time. His growth seems very sporadic.
Amelia has always been a big girl. She consistently tops off the growth chart in all categories. At age 3.75 she is a couple of inches shorter than her 5 year old brother. I do wonder if she will continue to grow at the same rate. If she does, she will surely be taller than me. Looking up at my daughter seems like a strange thought at the moment.
Audrey seems to be on the same growth track as Amelia. If so, I’m sure to be the shortest member of our family at 5.5 ½ inches.
