Audrey's 2 Year Old Stats

This post is a little overdue!  Here are Audrey's 2 year old stats....
Weight:  27.6 lbs 53 percentile
Height:  34 3/4 inches 56 percentile

Audrey is the smallest of all our children, but you would never suspect it since she tries so hard to be part of the older crowd.  This little girl doesn't want to be left out.  She is potty trained but refuses to go on any potty except for those in our house.  This makes outings a tad bit tricky.  Her best friend is a lovie called "Ba", a stuffed sheep.  She does everything with "Ba" and won't go to bed without her buddy by her side.  She has mastered colors and is now into numbers.  Audrey enjoys counting down from 5, like her brother, before running really fast, but always skips #4.  She enjoys being outside, collecting small items, and playing with Legos, just like Avery.  Every day she looks forward to picking up "Mia" from school and has so much fun playing with her big sister once at home.  Additionally, for nap time she always requests a hug from "Mia" before going to sleep.  When she is tired her favorite request is "Hold you."  She is truly a sweet little girl.

Sad Note

This past weekend we made a quick trip up to Nebraska for the funeral of my great aunt and uncle, Norma Jean and Dick Vitosh.  The occasion was sad and emotionally draining, but I am thankful to my children for their ability to give life a momentary pause, and shed light on the simple pleasures and remind us that "life is beautiful".

The Simple Pleasures

1.  Throwing rocks on ice for the first time.

2.  Playing with cousins.

3.  What it feels like to be king of the hill.

4.  Getting dirty is fun, exhilarating, and O.K.

5.  That great uncles provide new adventures.

6.  The warmth and security of another hand.

7.  That sharing experiences together gives us comfort.

8.  The adoration of someone younger than ourselves.

9.  That love can be found around the arms of a big sister.

10.  Recognizing that exploring together is a way of sharing joy.

11.  Good things happen in groups of three's.

12.  Barns are a whole new world.

13.  Lucy is a whole lotta of fun.

14.  That being mischievous is part of being a child.

15.  That spiders are not the only creatures who can hang out in the corner of barn doors.

16.  Getting to use Opa's pocket knife for the first time.

17.  Quenching one's curiosity.

18.  That flowers are beautiful.

19.  That waiting is sometimes part of life.

20.  Flowers smell good.

21.  Identifying the colors of each flower correctly is a satisfying experience.

22.  Smiling makes you look and feel beautiful.

23.  The sun always comes up tomorrow.
