Audrey And Her Outfits

Audrey is VERY picky when it comes to what she will wear and what she will not wear.  I have learned flexibility is the best policy when Audrey is making wardrobe choices.  As of late, her favorite outfits always involve a skirt of some sort.  Here is an assortment of Audrey's daily picks.   

Father Daughter Dance and Valentines' Day

This year both girls were able to snag a date with daddy for the father daughter dance at the Gulf Hills Country Club in Biloxi.  The girls were excited for weeks, asking what dress they could wear, if I would paint their nails, and when they could boogie with daddy.  After the event they happily shared tales about the limo ride, dinner, dancing, friends, and the candy bar.  While the girls were having fun with daddy Avery and I had date night at "Chef Scotts," his favorite sushi restaurant.  It was fun for both Shane and I to spend some special time with our special little people.  

      

Elvis Presley was a frequent guest at the Gulf Hills Country Club during his younger years.  According to a Gulf Hills Country Club representative he came to hide and spend time with a girlfriend from the Biloxi area.  

For Valentine's Day we hosted a Downton Abbey Dinner Party.  We invited several couples to enjoy dinner, drinks, tea, and a DVR episode of Downton Abbey.  This is the first time we have ever used wedding china for an event.  I took the picture below to document the event.  

Wrapping up Disney

We had so many sweet moments at Disney that put smiles on all our faces.    One memorable moment was during our visit with "Turtle Talk with Crush".   Last year Audrey was a passive participant during this show but this year she was the only child in our group to ask a question when Crush offered to answer questions from the audience.  She asked what his back legs were used for.

Another great moment was watching the kiddos enjoying the water works outside of the blast from the past show "Captain EO".  The water appeared to leap from hole to hole with all the kids, including Opa, attempting to catch the water in mid-air.  

The carousel is one of those rides that holds magic for little kids.  Not riding on the carousel, located in the heart of Fantasyland and foot steps away from Cinderella's castle, is a travesty.  We visited the Magic Kingdom on two separate days and on the last visit we finally rode the carousel Audrey had been begging us to ride from the beginning.  She rode it not once, but twice.  Each child carefully selected the horse they wanted to ride and then patiently waited for the ride to begin.  Audrey's smile says it all.

One of my favorite moments was on our last day just before leaving the Magic Kingdom.  On our way out the Main Street Band came marching and playing several upbeat Disney Songs.  We all paused to take in our final moments of Disney while the band captain invited the crowd to join in and dance.  Shane asked Amelia if she would like to dance and she happily accepted.  It was a happy moment, father and daughter dancing on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom.
