Happy Easter 2011!

Let the hunt begin.

I prefer balls over eggs.

 Seek and you shall find.

I've changed my mind, eggs with M & M's are way better than balls!

Sampling their finds.

Mom wanted a picture outside.

Mom wanted a family picture.

Mom wanted just one more family picture.....in the meantime Avery stepped on Amelia's toes....Amelia cries....mom snaps at Amelia to "be tough".... and this is the final result...a picture with one frustrated little girl.  Maybe next time mom won't need sooo many pictures.

This is the perfect shot to sum up our day.  Kids gorging themselves with candy...sweet.

Rodeo/Friends/Valentine's Day

We made a trip to the San Antonio Rodeo this past weekend and braved the crowds for some greasy food, a trip to the petting zoo, and visits to various animal barns.  After our visit we vowed never to return on a weekend again, citing "too many people" as our main reason.  However, I suspect the prospect of "greasy food" will entice my glutinous husband next year, weekend or not.

Our Guam friends, the Bui's, are in town on a TDY from their current station, Alaska.  We were able to get together and catch up, remembering our old Guam days BK(before kids)...HA.  Avery and Amelia had a GREAT time playing with their oldest Ella.

Happy Valentine's Day 2011

Hello 2011!

Wow, I can't believe it's 2011!.....and 2010 was such a fantastic year.  I’d like to say we rang in the New Year by celebrating with adults, staying up until midnight, and sealing the evening with a kiss.  However, we are boring, and chose an afternoon at the children’s museum with the kids, lunch at the “Buckhorn CafĂ©” including a delicious, artery clogging “fried Twinkie”, a less than stellar movie from Netflix, and an early bedtime of 10 p.m…..and it felt good!!!  I’m sure years from now we might regret not spending our evening in a more memorable way, but on January 1st waking up well rested with 3 little ones ready to tackle the day, I didn’t regret it one bit…Happy New Year!

A "Rody" for my own personal rodeo!

A domestic "Heidi Homemaker" item...all asked for and wanted!

A new swimsuit I wasn't even sure I needed!

Smile....Please!

When looking at the pictures in this post, you need to pay special attention to my middle child, Amelia.  As of recently she has been somewhat challenging while taking pictures.  Specifically, she smiles for the first couple of pictures then proceeds to turn into a goofball, placing her hands around her face, sticking out her tongue, standing in strange positions, and grinning with clenched teeth.  Her actions make group pictures a challenging experience.  Our Christmas Eve family pictures were no exception…….
A nice smile.

I see London I see France, I see Amelia's....

The beginning of the "clenched teeth" grin.

Grabbing her sister's leg.

Now grabbing her sister's arm.

Now starting to lose it.

Ok, now she has lost it and mom and dad have lost it.

The tears begin to roll and threats ensue.

She is trying REALLY hard to smile.....we told her Santa doesn't like excessive crying.
