Dearest Audrey Estelle-
You are one sweet little girl! How I love your smile, hugs, and good natured personality. I will always think of you as my "baby," even with Aggie Rose in the mix, because you were my "baby" for so long. Watching you grow has been a great source of delight because you seem to enjoy every new stage, from starting piano to playing a new sport. With an upcoming move this next year I dread the thought of putting you into full time school the most. Somehow, having you at home and getting to enjoy and savor "you" has been a privilege I'm not quite ready to let go of. You are a go with the flow kind-of gal and fit in this family so perfectly that when you are not around it's very obvious. You are always excited for your birthday and sincerely love every phone call, card, gift, and birthday wish you receive. This past birthday, since you are a December baby, you chose an "egg nog" cake as your birthday cake. We made your cake together and the family enjoyed every last morsel! Your brother and sister made you birthday presents, both of which you liked, but your sister's barbie furniture, made out of legos, may have been a highlight. Birthday's come and go and here is a list of things I want to remember about you at this stage in your life.
1. You started piano for the first time this year. When you practice you almost always sing. I love hearing her sweet little voice while you practice piano.
2. You are a very "agreeable" child and because of this you are liked by many schoolmates and neighborhood friends. However, because you are agreeable, those with dominate personalities try to take advantage of your good nature. Finding a good balance between being "agreeable" and "assertive" has not been easy.
3. Lady is still your favorite stuffy and is definitely showing signs of many years of loving.
4. Eating food has always been a slow process for yourself, However, you are willing to try new things, like a piece of your brother's octopus, from a recent restaurant venture. This I am thankful for, as enjoying "culture" always seems to be tied to food.
5. Recently you have been joining Avery and Amelia in dad's "basketball workouts", which none of you look forward to. However, you have an upbeat outlook on life and willing go, participate, and try to improve.
6. I am always amazed at how well you are able to get your school work done, without being micromanaged by myself. I really don't have to remind you to get homework done and rarely need to help you with schoolwork. Honestly, you are a homeschoolers dream. Thank you!
7. Amelia and you have a special bond. Both of you can play hours in your room with barbies or calico critters. If there is something new to try Amelia always wants you to try with her. Your presence gives Amelia comfort.
8. You are the only sibling willing to play Legos with Avery. If he has some alone time he almost always asks you if you want to play Legos. Avery loves having a building buddy.
9. I something laugh at how you chase Aggie Rose around the house. You chase her because you are worried about her. Your concern is always for her safety.
10. You have some awesome neighborhood friends! You play outside for hours with Avery, Amelia, Jane, and Charlotte. In fact, you have spent many lunches and dinners at either Jane and Charlotte's house. You are already sad about moving, as you will miss these girls.
