Pre-Tooth Fairy

Being the second born, Amelia rarely has a "first" all to herself.  But today she did just that, lost her "first" tooth, the "first" kiddo in our family to do so! 

Her front tooth had been wobbly for a week.  Shane was dying to pull it, but restrained from doing so after watching Amelia wince after his every attempt.  However, after breakfast this morning he couldn't hold back and gave that front tooth a quick pull only to find a gap where it had once been and an extracted tooth in his hand.  Amelia was SO excited. 

Amelia's excitement quickly shifted to her anticipation of the tooth fairy's visit.  At first she speculated the tooth fairy might leave her some candy, but changed her mind to money once she was informed that the tooth fairy likes clean, "sugar bug free" teeth.  And so tonight we wait for the highly anticipated arrival of the tooth fairy!

Staying with Mimi and Papa

Military moves can sometimes be trying. However, one of the high points of relocating is getting to spend time with family during the transition.  On the first half of our stay in Nebraska we called Grand Island our home.  Here are some of the highlights of our two week stay.

1.  Staying up late

4.  Spending time with Auntie Zan.

5.  Visiting Aunt Vicky's cabin.

6.  Collecting locust shells.

7.  Making a playhouse out of sheets and mom sneaking a peek.

8.  Playing with new friends in our special hideout.

9.  Visiting the local greasy spoon, Coney Island.

10.  Getting to sit at the bar and order our own food.

11.  Enjoying time with our kiddos.

12.  Hanging out with Mimi and Papa

13.  Getting to wear a "pink" life jacket, because nothing else would do.

14.  Evenings on the beach.

Father's Day, Fishing, and Smores

This past Father's Day, Shane and I spend the majority of our time traveling from Mississippi to Nebraska, while the kiddos were stationed in G.I. Nebraska with their Mimi and Papa.  We arrived late June 17th and were able to get some last minute celebratory family time.  However, father's day extended to include a few fishing trips and catches of catfish, bass, and carppie.  Evening adventures consisted of pontoon boat rides on the lake and smores on the beach!
